Back from holiday

We had a lovely bank holiday break in Suffolk. We stayed in a really nice caravan park called Carlton Meres, very tranquil and pretty with a lovely fishing lake. The park was well situated about 7 miles from the seaside. My favourite place we visited was Southwold which has the most fantastic pier. You can see it in the picture here. All the shops on it were really tasteful and the cafe was just fabulous we had hot chocolate with marshmallows and a delicious chocolate peanut cake (well it was a British Summer's day so hot chocolate not so outlandish!)

Here is a picture of the kids and my husband sitting on the beach with the pier in the background.
The kids had a good time, the park has a small club house with a snooker table and gym so they had plenty to keep them busy.

We visited Framlingham Castle which was nearby and located in another gorgeous village of the same name.
There was a farmer's market in the village square so we bought some fresh fruit and crusty bread. It was all very English and civilised.

Finally a day out at Pleasure Wood Hills, the local theme park, small but with a couple of good rides.

We will definitely be visiting this part of the world again as only about 2 hours drive from home and such a pretty county.

Thanks for letting me ramble on, I will be back tomorrow with another card as I did smuggle some card making basics away and managed to finish one card!

Hello Boys!

You can tell I am on annual leave, the most posts I ever make is the month of August! Well into my second week now and not looking forward to going back to work boo hoo.

This fair charmer is a digi from Kenny K, called Showgirl, she looks a right minx. I have coloured her with copics and added lots of glitter and bling .

I have started decorating the inside of my cards not as fancy as some but simple enough to do every time.

Another Sarah Kay

I saw the most amazing card over on Bev Rochester's beautiful blog and I just had to have a go myself. The image was a Sarah Kay, Fleur gathering flowers with Manon and Bev had chosen the most stunning blue/red colour scheme. This card was inspired by her fabulous work. I have used my own papers and layout and teamed it with stampin Up crumb cake but kept the blue/red colour scheme.

The little fence is very cute. It is in old Xcut die I have had for ages and never used, I added a little white craft ink and all the edges of the papers have been distressed with scissors.

I created the cloudy background with die cut clouds (Dyenamics I think borrowed from my sister!), but used them as a mask and stippled blue ink to create the sky.

Oh La La

This gorgeous Sarah Kay stamp inspired me to make something really girly. She is such a stylish lady she must be French ! hence the sentiment, Amour. The papers are from the pretty Papermania Pampered Pets range, lovely soft chalky colours.

The border is punched with an Xcut border punch, great value and very robust.

I have coloured in with copics and added flowers to finish off.

There Be Pirates!

I hope this finds you well and enjoying the lovely sunshine. A beautiful day here in Kent and we have been out and had a lovely ploughman's lunch in a great pub in Wye called the Tickled Trout. The pub has a garden that has the River Stour running past, very picturesque.

Back to the card, I have had my LOTV pirate stamps for a while now and thought it was time to get some ink on it. I think the skull and crossbones papers are from the DCWV Rock Star paper pack but not sure. I distressed the edges and smudged some white craft ink around as well.

I punched out a small circle of the paper to fit in the star, hey presto a pirate embellishment.

The image is coloured with copics which I am struggling to master and finished with pencils.

Summer Roses

I hope you have all enjoyed the sunshine recently, it is now gone and has been pouring with rain all day here in Kent, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

A lovely challenge at Lili of the Valley Challenge blog this week, a nice easy one, Roses.

I used some pretty blooms from Wild Orchid crafts and am still learning with the Copic Pens.

I used some magazine freebies for the rest of the Card, My Minds Eye papers and one of the Lili of the Valley images with last months Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.

I also tried distressing the edges a bit. Hope you like the card and back soon with another.
