Something different

This card was made as a commission for a lady who loves hearts. I have gone for a vintage style which is not something I usually tackle! But I love how it turned out. The doily was inked with Stampin Up Crumbcake and Pretty in Pink inks. I used a lovely Pearl flourish and a mixture of flowers from Hobby Craft.

I had two cards to make this week so had a complete change of style with the next one for a young lady who is going to be 11.

Like most girls she loves shopping, shoes and handbags so I went with that for the theme. I have had these fresh and pretty Doodlebug papers for ages but they seemed a good match for this card. The image is Winnie from Digistamp Boutique and I have paper pieced her dress and boots to match.

Festive Fairy

I made this card at a Craft get together I went to a couple of weeks ago, we followed a sketch provided by Banshee on the Docrafts forum. I used a stamp set that was a free cover gift from a magazine. Lots of Stickles to cover up my rubbish colouring. I found it very tricky!

The gingham ribbon is one of my favourites and the flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts. I added to red gems to the leaves to look like winter berries.

I am entering this on the Cupcake Challenge Blog, theme Fairytales and Panto.

For the man in your life

A Christmas card ! The scribble snowman would be easy to colour with his team's favourite colours, this one would work for Liverpool or Man United. I am loving Kraft cardstock at the moment and teaming it with red and white gives a Scandinavian feel.

I stamped the background with Stampin Up's serene snowflakes stamp set and spot lighted one of the snowflakes to make an embellishment and the edges have been sponged with white craft ink. A bit of faux stitching with a white gel pen to finish it off.

I am entering this for this week's challenge on Papertake Challenge blog, cards for men.

Cute and Girly

Back again, I am spoiling you! This little poppet from Pink Gem is really cute and a joy to colour in. I used my Promakers and lots of Stickles for this one. Being green today and re-cylced some ribbon from a box of chocolates (all now eaten!)

I am entering it in two challenges

Spooky Greetings

This little chap from the Pumpkin and Aubergine set by Papermania is my entry to the Things that go bump in the night over at Fab 'N Funky, great challenge and I really enjoyed getting creative with this one. No Halloween type papers so made my own with distress inks and then stamped spooky words over the top, I think it worked really well, if I say so myself!

Finally used my Quickutz spiders web to make the corner embellishments.

thanks for looking.

Shoes and Shopping

What girl doesn't like a day shopping for new Shoes? I have had this stamp for ages and was pleased to get some ink on it for this card.

Not had time to surf round the challenges so not entered for any this time.

I added some 3d Gloss to her dress for a bit of shine and definition and red glitter to the handbag.

A White Christmas

I had a lot of fun with this card, though a real pain to photograph so much white. The glitter card is white, but against the bright white papers looks a bit grey/silver. I have entered it in a couple of challenges

Lili of the Valley - Non traditional Christmas colours (taken that to mean red/green, blue/silver)
Colour Create - All white except the image

CES Challenge Blog - Animal Antics

The frame around the oval nestie is a Marianne designs frame and I also used the gorgeous swirl from the same set.

The second photo shows the colours better. I added twinklets to the snowflake and flower soft to the pompom and the fur around the stocking.

Christmas Card Challenge

A sweet stamp set I received free with a Magazine last year I think. Bentley Bear and friend sledging, so cute. The papers are from a Papermania Forever Friends Christmas pad and have a nice texture. I finished it off with some organza ribbon and a pearl ribbon slider.

I have entered this in a challenge over at Creative Inspirations where the theme is Christmas cards.

Basic Grey

A simple card for the Basic Grey Challenge blog, the theme is to use fabric on your card. Sadly I have no proper fabric bits but thought tulle might pass, I hope so. I attached the bow with a big blingy brad and used the beautiful Basic Grey Scarlett's Letter paper. I like how the flourish in the right corner of the paper was very similar to one of my Stampin Up sets.

The middle panel of paper I covered with some glittered vellum for a bit of interest. A very quick card to make.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Here is my card for the Lili of the Valley challenge, using a sketch by Bev Rochester. The stamp is the very cute Tea Party, I followed a tutorial on the Lili of the Valley site for blending a colour into white using promarkers.

I used my Xcut punches to make the flowers and my Stampin Up Jewellery tag punch and stamps for the sentiment.

What are little girls made of?

This is my entry for another couple of fun challenge one on the Docrafts Forum, OTT Tilda, and the challenge on the Secret Crafter's blog, what are little girls made of. I am a kind of less is more gal (really!) so find it quiet difficult to pile on the embellies, I went for an OTT bow. Girlie pink and lots of glitter of course.

I made this into an easel card to get more room to play. The papers are from an old SEI paper pack. The first time I have used my labels 10 nesties as well.

2 Challenge Cards Today

First picture is the outside of a gatefold card for a Gorjuss Girls challenge over on the Docrafts site. There are lots of challenges hosted by members of the forum and a great selection of themes/styles. I used those fab papers again from My Minds Eye which were a freebie with Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine a few issues ago.
I decorated the inside of the card to match, the stamp was yet another freebie, a subscription gift from Craft Stamper Mag (quiet some time ago). I coloured in with promarkers and paper pieced the dress. Paper piecing is one of my favourite techniques and helps if you find colouring large areas tricky (like me). Lots of gems in the centre of the flowers and my flourish punch finished off the design. The card is a mini card at only 10.5 cm square but very cute all the same!

My next challenge was again on Docrafts for a black, white and silver floral card. You could not use ribbon, so I used my Stampin Up eyelet border punch and some black and white paper for the bottom of the card. My Stampin up oval punches and matching stamp set were used for the greeting. This card took very little time to make, one of those designs that just came together and I am very pleased with the result. I finished it with stickles and black glitter.

The stamp is a well loved favourite from Stampendous.

Millie in the Garden

I Borrowed this pretty Wild Rose Studio stamp from my sister, thanks Karen! She has a brand new blog, My crafty cupboard so please go over and take a look, I have a link on my blog list.

I love green and pink together so found some papers and came up with this. The papers are from a Forever Friends paper pack I think. I coloured in with Promarkers and paper pieced the dress. Finally lots of flowers with stickles Star Dust and and an organza bow. I felt it looked a bit bland to tell the truth, so I also finished off with some faux black stitching to give a bit more contrast.

New Baby

I saw this Wild Rose Studio stamp and thought he was so cute and would make a really sweet image for a baby card. I used my Stampin Up jewellery tag punch and tiny tags sentiments and added a tiny button.

I felt there was a lot of white space around the sheep so punched out some tiny flowers with my old and trusty xcut flower punch. I have inked the edges of the nesties circle and then gone over with Star Light stickles.

Gem of a Challenge

I followed the sketch over at the Pink Gem Challenge blog, what a fun sketch. I had this freebie Pink Gem stamp from a back issue of Craft Stamper Mag, so used it for my image. I have used a mixture of roses from Wild Orchid crafts and Hobbycraft and my Martha Stewart Punches. The sentiment is from a Stampin Up Set, and I used my Papermania Build a Brad set to make a custom brad. The papers are from the lovely Summer Bloom pack by Papermania as well.

I added some Start Light stickles around the image for a bit of bling

I will be back later with a New Baby card.

Lili of the Valley

Here is my entry to the sketch challenge over at Lili of the Valley, just love this cat! I used a my minds eye paper pack I got as a freebie with Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine a few issues ago. I love these colours together. Again I used some flowers from Wild Orchid crafts kindly donated by my sister Karen, thanks sis. I added a bit of glitter just to bling them up.
Sorry about the photo quality, I have lost my photo editor programme and don't know how to get it back, but will keep trying!

Hope you like it and I will be back again soon with some cards from my last set of demonstrations.

Back Again so quickly!

As promised I am uploading a couple more cards from my May demonstrations for Docrafts, this time it is Bramble and Hawthorn, the latest additions to the Daisy and Dandelion group of cute animal stamps.

I just love this little guy, very easy to colour in, I just used watercolour pencils, you forget how easy and effective they are and yes I do love my promarkers as well!
Next a very quick and easy card using stickers, you get loads of images for 99p and could make loads of cards from one pack.

Just received my next lot of demo supplies for Docrafts July Demonstrations. I have posted on the side bar my next of lot of dates if you are able to come along.

There is a little bit of Christmas but loads of other really beautiful stuff. I felt very lucky when I received my box and saw all the lovely goodies Docrafts sent me.

I will be back again with the last few cards to post, including Tea Cups Decoupage and an acetate card.

I am still here!

Sadly a lack of posting for the last couple of months due to the usual family commitments, work, all the other boring stuff. I have finally grabbed the camera and taken some pictures of the cards I made for my last lot of Docrafts Demonstrations in May. I will not spoil you with them all at once, just a few today, the rest to follow!

This was my favourite stamp from the Henbury Lane range, just lovely. The papers have special finishes on them and were just such gorgeous colours.

A different style of card for me a bit vintage and scrappy, the papers are from the Hampton Range, I used copper embossing powder for the greeting and finished it with a glittery rub on butterfly. The flower as made by crimping a punched strip of paper and pleating it to make a circle. The leaves were just hand cut and then put through the crimper which gives them a great texture.

I will be back later this week with some very cute hedgehogs.

Need to be a bit quicker....

Entering the challenges as I keep missing the deadlines. The new challenge over at Lili of the Valley is for a summer themed card, here is my entry. Another outing for my fav Sarah Kay stamp and some lovely bright colours. I was very pleased with it as I made it late at night and my lighting is not good so was not sure all the colours went together!

I coloured the stamp with promarkers and finished it off with some Prima Pearls.

As I was saying I need to be a bit quicker posting as I also made this card.

For the last challenge, the stamp is one I bought from Lili of the Valley at Alexandra Palace, isn't she gorgeous! I used some Kate Knight papers I received free with Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine. Love these berry bright colours. I teamed them with black to make a bit of an impact The flowers were made with a Marianne Designs stencil, they emboss as well though you can't see that very well in the picture.

I Have Been Busy

Finally had time to play with some bits I bought at Ally Pally a few weeks ago. I had been itching to spend a bit of time card making but as usual real life (kids, housework, work, DH) kept getting in the way!
I used my new Distress inks to colour in this image from Magnolia and have entered it in their challenge, they are lovely to use and I love the effect they give.
I followed the sketch by Bev Rochester for the challenge.
I also made a matching gift bag (bag was 20P from my local cake supplies shop - what a bargain).

The papers are from the very gorgeous Rose Garden range from Papermania, you get tags and die cuts with it as well.

I have also managed to make a challenge card for Lilli of the Valley, will be back to upload this later.

Long Time No See

Apologies for the long break in posts, have had such a busy few months with Demos for Docrafts taking up time and family commitments.

Here is a card I am entering for the Promarker Challenge, my little man looks as though he has a bit of sunburn but he has been out fishing all day. It's not the best photo but I added so 3d gloss to his bucket and the fish which adds a nice accent.

I will get my camera out again and take some photo's of the cards I made for the last lot of Demo's as I had many requests to get them on my blog.

Valentines

I used an old papermania heart stamp from a few years ago on this one, still looks good and my new Martha Stewart deep border punch.
I had some freebie cadstock with Cards Magazine, which was perfect for these projects. I made one for my hubby and a couple of mini cards for my kids, a tradition I started a few years ago when they used to like to get some chocolates on valentines day!
My son's card below was very quick, just a couple of die cuts and a bit of faux stitching.

Still loving these easel cards, used a forever friends sticker stuck on acetate for this one for my daughter.

Will be back later to upload a friendship card I made for Ann over on the Docrafts forum, had a great swap as ever.

Finally a new card!

After such a busy time over Christmas and New Year I have finally had time to play with some lovely new stash. I love this image of the Fairy on Tip Toes from Lili of the Valley. I also had the New Docrafts Goody Bag with gorgeous papers and flowers (plus loads of other gorgeous bits and bobs). So I have combined the two to make this card. The glittered image is made by applying Stampin Up heat and stick powder and then Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

It was partly inspired by the friendship card Aunty Sue on the Docrafts forum sent me, using vibrant yellow and green. So refreshing after all the Christmas colours.

This card is for Aunty Sue, I hope she likes it.
I have entered this card in the Pollycraft Challenge, things with wings, and My Time to Craft, Fairy Folk Challenge.

I have already had 3 demo's for Docrafts this month, the last one for this loop is at The Chatham Dockside Outlet on Saturday 30th January. This is the demo that had to be postponed due to the snow. Please come along and say hello if you are in the area.

I will post on the side bar future dates as I am booked up for the whole year!
